About this tool

Local IEEE lookup with structural analysis.

The tool normalizes 48-bit MAC addresses, searches the longest available IEEE prefix (MA-S, MA-M or MA-L/OUI) and shows whether the address is local, universal, unicast, multicast, broadcast or zero.

How to use

Paste a MAC in any common format.

  1. Enter colon, hyphen, Cisco or plain 12-hex format.
  2. Check vendor, registry and normalized formats.
  3. Use local/universal and unicast/multicast flags to understand randomized or special addresses.
