Day-3 vs. Day-5 embryos

For a day-5 (blastocyst) embryo: add 266 days to the transfer date. This is equivalent to counting from an "adjusted LMP" of 17 days before transfer.
For a day-3 embryo: add 263 days to the transfer date (266 − 3 days of in-vitro development).
Use the EDD calculator by entering the "adjusted LMP" calculated by your fertility clinic, not the biological LMP.

What is Naegele's Rule and how does it work?

Naegele's Rule adds 280 days (40 weeks) to the last menstrual period date to estimate the due date. It assumes a 28-day cycle and ovulation on day 14. Longer or shorter cycles shift the actual time of ovulation, which is why ultrasound is more accurate for confirming or revising the individual EDD.
