How to read macro ranges
AMDR means acceptable macronutrient distribution range. Being inside the range does not guarantee diet quality: fiber, micronutrients, food quality and individual context still matter.
- Carbohydrates: 45–65% of energy.
- Protein: 10–35% in adults; lower ranges for younger children.
- Fat: 20–35% in adults; higher ranges in children.
